The role

The role on offer suits someone who is currently working in an Assistant Accountant role with around 5 years’ experience and is looking to take the next step in their career!

Reporting to and working closely with the GM – Finance, you will be a hands-on Accountant involved in all aspects of our national finance department and help to support the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and payroll functions by becoming the go to person for the finance team and the wider business.

To gain a great understanding of the business, your initial duties will be:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • General ledger reconciliations
  • Managing fixed assets
  • Prepayments & Accruals
  • Assisting in the preparation monthly financial reports
  • After the initial period, your ongoing duties will include:

    • Preparation of monthly financial reports
    • Overseeing month end
    • Preparation BAS and FBT returns
    • Assisting in the preparation annual budgets
    • Play a key role in the annual audit
    • Be the go to person within the team
    • Training a successor in your initial duties

    Skills and experience

    • Tertiary degree in Accounting (or studying towards)
    • Ideally 5+ years experience within a similar role
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an advantage
    • Driven and eager to learn
    • Enthusiasm and a positive energy
    • Strong problem solving skillst
    • Excellent organisation and time management skills to meet tight deadlines
    • Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
    • Proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously
